Hi all,

Here is an RC Mother's Day poem shared with me by the Amherst teacher Lydia.  Liz, is there a way to get notification that the blog has been updated by e-mail (similar to facebook) or will we just have to make checking it a part of our routine?  See you all thursday!

For all mothers around the world I wrote this Mother's Day gift for you.

*A love poem to all my moms  *

On this day remember clear

There is no one who is more dear

Than you to me, my sister mom

You are the one, you are the bomb.

I’m glad you chose this job we share

I love your fight, I love your flair

You’ve watched a life come forth to be

You are transformed, do you agree?

Be pleased and proud, with the job you do

At times you may feel you have no clue

Of what your child is trying to say

You will find a path, a way.

Women’s oppression is pretty harsh

But we are armed with minds and hearts,

We yearn to change the whole big thing

So our young can grow and sing

We partner with the our young and men

To toss off shackles and to end

All false divisions, chains and glue

So we can start again, anew.

We work upstream at the source

Each task we do will change earth’s course

Each act of love plows through big rock

Our bodies shake --we open locks.

Trust your mind and your desire

To set things right, it will require

Love of yourself, not just our young ones,

Along the way, have lots of big fun.

On this day remember clear

There is no one who is more dear

Than you to me, my sister mom

You are the one, you are the bomb.
